Globalworth teams up with Żabka Nano autonomous stores

Globalworth has entered into an agreement with Żabka for a number of Żabka Nano self-service stores to open in the company's office buildings in 2022. The first stores have already opened in buildings B and D of Quattro Business Park – a modern office complex in Kraków. The openings of Żabka Nano stores in office buildings represents the latest stage in the expansion of the largest chain of self-service stores in Europe, which already amounts to 41 outlets.

Globalworth reports €47.5 million net profit for 2021

Globalworth’s adjusted normalised EBITDA decreased by 8.1% to €130.2 million in 2021, compared to €141.6 million in 2020, due to a lower net operating income. Net profit significantly improved to €47.5 million (2020: net loss of €46.8 million) due to marginal revaluation losses of €5.7 million in 2021 compared to the €116.2 million revaluation losses in 2020. The company published its unaudited financial results for 2021

Globalworth to refurbish mixed-use complex in Katowice

Supersam, a mixed-use destination in Katowice which includes a shopping centre and office buildings, is undergoing a transformation. It will soon feature more office space as well as a new restaurant section. The Konior Studio led by Silesian architect Tomasz Konior is responsible for the redevelopment project. Czech businessman Radovan Vítek has amassed a fortune estimated at around €4.1 billion while increasing his influence in the European property sector. Vítek holds firm control of CPI Property Group, the company he founded with assets topping €11 billion and has gradually built majority stakes in Globalworth and Immofinanz, both competing groups in Central and Eastern Europe. By purchasing controlling participations in these companies, Vítek could build his property investment empire across CEE to the tune of around €20 billion and 7 million sqm of developed space, covering every country and asset class in the region. This story is a prime example of the rise and strength of local capital in CEE, in addition to the gradual decline of influence held by Austrian companies over the region.

New leases

  • Flowserve Hungary Services has leased 2,550 sqm of office space in the Liberty mixed-use building in Budapest. The company will move into this Autumn.
  • DB Logistic has signed a new lease agreement at SEGRO Logistics Park Gliwice. The company has decided to expand occupied space by a third to a total of nearly 5,000 sqm.
  • Low-cost airline flydubai has opened a new office Bucharest-based Eminescu Offices, in a deal brokered by Cushman & Wakefield Echinox.

New appointments

  • Prologis' Warsaw team has gained a new director. As of 1st of April, Marzena Tkaczuk has joined the team of development experts. As Capital Deployment Director, she will be responsible in particular for the implementation of build-to-suit projects.
  • Hagag Development Europe has named Ana-Maria Nemțanu as Leasing Director. She has over 17 years’ worth of experience in the local real estate industry.
  • Emilia Dębowska has been promoted to the position of Head of Sustainability Europe of Panattoni. In her new role, she will be responsible for Panattoni’s integrated sustainable development strategy encompassing both the company’s business goals and the development of its projects in Europe for every country in which the developer is active.
