Investment volumes for 2021 in CEE rise by 6%

Trei increases development volume to €1.7 billion in 2021

Trei Real Estate, an international developer and property asset holder specialising in residential and retail real estate, continued to expand its business in 2021, the second year of the COVID-19 pandemic. As of 31 December 2021, the development portfolio had an aggregate value of €1.7 billion after growing by 40 percent (2020: €1.2 billion). Residential real estate makes up the bulk of the total with €1.5 billion, whereas retail real estate accounts for c. €200 million. The value of the assets under management, including the own property portfolio, remained unchanged at €1.3 billion. The proprietary portfolio accounts for €1.2 billion out of this total, while c. €100 million are managed on third-party mandates.

Office-based corporations see no meaningful savings despite WFH

Despite almost all European office employees working from home last year the empty workplaces did not lead to a reduction in the expenditure that companies had to fulfil had the workforce been in the office. The average costs per FTE fell by only 2% and amounted to €9,468. These findings have been published by Colliers, Occupier Cost Index (OCI), which comprises data from 29 countries, 3,990 buildings, 26.1 million square meters of office space and 1.96 million FTEs.

Latest news


New leases

  • Signify is relocating its existing headquarters in Lódź. The new office, located in the city centre in the Hi Piotrkowska complex, has an area of over 2,800 sqm. The tenant was assisted in the signing of the contract and the process of arranging the new office by the consulting firm CBRE.
  • Magwise Medical Centre is a new tenant of the Wola Retro office building in Warsaw owned by Develia. The clinic, which specialises in mental health, has taken nearly 390 square metres of space on the ground floor of the building.
  • Logistics company Fiege will lease approximately 5,000 sqm in the ONE industrial park in Lovosice built by Cromwell Property Group. The transaction was arranged by Matěj Indra, head of the industrial department at 108 Agency Czech Republic.

New appointments

  • Lucia Niculae has been appointed Business Development Director of Romanian construction company Pedro Construct. She has been an investor since 2018 and currently manages her own property portfolio. 
  • 108 Agency promoted Matej Indra to Head of Industrial Agency for the Czech Republic.
  • Michał Ozimek has joined the Valuation department at Corees Polska - Commercial Real Estate, taking up the position of Senior Valuation & Investment Analyst. Working in the agency's Warsaw branch, he will be responsible for supporting processes related to the development of property valuations.
