Spanish developer Gran Via Real Estate announces results beyond expectations for 2020 on the Romanian market. Despite two months of lockdown measures due to the pandemic, the company traded 478 residential units, with a total value of €44.2 million. 

Finnish developer YIT has been awarded a construction permit for a mixed-use complex next to the European Solidarity Centre in Gdańsk.

Alina Marulis, an entrepreneur from Bucharest, is investing  €10 million euros in a boutique project of 12 villas near Băneasa forest, close to American school.

Opus Land continues to invest in Cosmopolis, a residential project near Bucharest, where construction work was started in 2007. €22 million will be allocated for the construction of 500 new homes and €7 million are for increasing the commercial area of the strip mall, SVN Romania, the exclusive agent of the project, announced.

Three of the five EU countries that registered the highest annual (year-on-year) house price growth in Q3 2020 are located in CEE – Poland (#2), Slovakia (#4) and the Czech Republic (#5), freshly released data by Eurostat reveals.

The construction of two more residential buildings of the Belgrade Waterfront project has commenced. Roberts Construction and Millennium Team have been selected as main contractors for the BW Simfonija 1 and 2 buildings.

In 2020, Echo Investment hit records both in sales and handovers of apartments. It managed to sign 1570 sales contracts with clients, what outperformed last year's results by 16%. At the same time, clients received their keys to 1505 apartments, which in turn means a 19% increase compared to 2019.

The COVID-19 pandemic did not affect real estate transactions in Romania. During 2020, a total of 602,805 properties were traded, 62,625 more than in 2019, according to the Romanian National Agency for Cadastre and Land Registration (ANCPI). 

Liviu Tudor, the Romanian investor who owns the most office space in Bucharest through Genesis Property, bought a former factory for which he paid €3 million, Ziarul Financiar reports citing market sources.
