At the end of 2019, Poland’s total industrial stock topped 18.6 million sqm, with warehouse supply hitting a record high of 2.72 million sqm in the past 12 months. Compared to the previous year, warehouse space availability improved significantly on most of the nation’s regional markets. Cushman & Wakefield presents a summary of the Polish industrial market.

Prologis has been named the top real estate company on the 2020 Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World List. This annual ranking of corporate sustainability performance also put Prologis at #6 among U.S. companies and #26 overall. The announcement was made at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

7R is the first warehouse developer in Poland to create an innovative eco-friendly warehouse – 7R Green. The company's main goal is to provide facilities in which ecological solutions will help minimize their impact on the natural environment. Construction of the first warehouse, designed in keeping with the new green concept, will start in the first half of the year.

Element Industrial has completed the first phase of the Eli Park 1 logistics park in Chitila, northwest of Bucharest. The 20,000 sqm warehouse is leased to appliance producer Arctic, part of Turkish group Arcelik.

Total demand on the Budapest industrial market amounted to 88,230 sqm in Q4 2019, indicating a 16% decrease on a yearly basis. Leasing activity was driven by renewals (86%), followed by expansion (12.8%) and new leases (2.6%). The Budapest Research Forum published its quarterly industrial market analysis.

Panattoni Europe continues its expansion in north-eastern Poland. The developer has leased out 100 per cent of space at Panattoni Park Białystok I and announced the development of the second distribution centre in the heart of Podlasie. Additional 35,000 sqm will be delivered this year at Panattoni Park Białystok II.

Demand for industrial and logistics space in Romania in 2019 reached a total of about 476.000 square meters, a value comparable to that of 2018, when the transactions amounted to a total of 514.000 square meters, according to JLL.

Panattoni has acquired a 14.4-hectare site at ul. Miedziana to build City Logistics Katowice. Construction works at the park, anticipated to feature 70,000 sqm at full build-out, will commence before year-end.

Globalworth Industrial, the industrial and logistics sub-brand of Globalworth, has begun construction at Constanța Business Park, the largest mixed-use project in Romania. The business park is being developed on a plot of some 100 hectares and will include industrial and logistics, production and service space, as well as office buildings and an intermodal hub.

Prologis has started the development of a 21,000 square meter speculative facility at the fully occupied Prologis Park Prague-Uzice in the Czech Republic. The facility will be completed in Q2 2020 and it will offer flexible space solutions for all types of business – logistics/storage or production, with unit sizes starting at 4,500 square meters. It has further development potential for up to another 42,000 square meters.
