Colliers recently secured the largest agent-involved transaction in the history of the Czech industrial market. Senior Associate Lukáš Svobodník brought Sportisimo to Hrušov in Ostrava, where Contera began construction of a logistics complex for the sporting goods retailer. This new distribution centre of the Czech company will offer jobs to 700 people. The 90,000 sqm hall, with a clear height of up to 25 meters, a rare feature in the Czech Republic, is now one of the country’s biggest logistics halls.

Brothers Adrian and Dragoș Pavăl, founders and owners of DIY chain Dedeman, are investing in a new logistics project in Pantelimon, near Bucharest. 

French BIC Group, the maker of stationery, lighters and shavers, is reportedly looking to open a regional distribution centre near Bucharest, according to profit.ro.   

Panattoni announces the largest lease in the CEP (courier, express and parcel) sector. The developer is to provide InPost with warehouses in eight locations with a total area of ​​75,500 sqm. The centres are to be built this year.

Login Business Park in the north of Budapest, owned by Wing, is set to expand with a new hall offering more than 5,000 sqm in floor space. The project responds to distinct market needs reflecting increasing demand and increasing interest in the park. The market was quick to signal the necessity of the construction project, with lease agreements signed for the entire floor space of the hall immediately. The development is scheduled to be completed in late summer 2021.

FUTURE Designs, the UK based designer and manufacturer of high-quality luminaires and bespoke lighting solutions, has obtained the first IMMUNE Building Standard certification in the world for an industrial building, awarded by the Healthy by Design Building Institute (HDBI). The factory and headquarters achieved the label IMMUNE - Strong following the company’s successful implementation of the set of health and safety measures for its employees.

In Świdnik, near Lublin, a cross-docking terminal of around 5,165 sqm was constructed and has now completed its BREEAM certification with a rating of ‘Very Good’. The centre is partially powered with electricity from renewable energy sources and with the application of sustainable solutions CO2 emissions have been reduced by around 30 pct and water usage has been cut by 67 pct. Almost PLN 50 mln has been invested in the project.

WDP Romania, the developer and owner of industrial and logistics spaces, has received the Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiency (EDGE) certification for its local stock of warehouses. EDGE was created by IFC, part of the World Bank. It helps property owners and developers build and operate green buildings in a fast and affordable way. The certifications apply to WDP warehouses ranging from 2,500 sqm to more than 60,000 sqm. 

CTP has acquired 17.9 hectares of land in northern Bucharest for an undisclosed sum. The land was bought from two businessmen who were planning to invest €50 million in a logistics project. 

German carmaker Mercedes-Benz is boosting its logistics operations in Romania. Construction firm Plana-Innova was selected to build its new centre that will have a maximum storage capacity for 45,000 products.
