The effects of COVID-19 have caused an acceleration in foodservice trends which are set to continue long after the pandemic has been brought under control, according to a new report by Coverpoint Foodservice Consulting.

Three of the five EU countries that registered the highest annual (year-on-year) house price growth in Q3 2020 are located in CEE – Poland (#2), Slovakia (#4) and the Czech Republic (#5), freshly released data by Eurostat reveals.

Macromex, the leader in the temperature-controlled products segment, is building its second warehouse in Chitila, near Bucharest. The investment amounts to €15 million and will be financed from own sources, but also from a loan from Alpha Bank Romania, the company announced. 

Local developer Crestyl, through its subsidiary Savarin p.l.c., is issuing five-year zero-coupon bonds with a total nominal value of €84 million (CZK 2.2 billion) this week, with the possibility of increasing to CZK 3.3 billion. The purpose of the issue is to finance the Savarin project, which is being developed in the vicinity of Prague's Wenceslas Square and Na Příkopě Street. The multi-purpose complex also includes space for the installation of Alfons Mucha’s Slav Epic. The issue was prepared by J&T Banka and the bonds are also traded on the regulated market of the Prague Stock Exchange.

The European Logistics Investment (ELI) logistics platform in Poland will deliver an 18,300 sqm logistics centre in Skawina near Kraków. The Kraków V facility, which is ELI’s third investment in that region, will be developed together with its partner Panattoni. Close to 20% of the space has already been leased to RTV Euro AGD– a leading retailer of home appliances and consumer electronics.

Rhenus Logistics has extended a contract and expanded its warehouse space at Mapletree Park Szczecin. The company now occupies ca. 52,000 sqm from ca. 102,000 sqm available space. Colliers International advised the tenant in the lease extension process.

The end of 2020 saw the completion of an investment transaction that will enable the future development of one of the largest logistics parks in the Czech Republic on the extensive land surrounding the D5 motorway near Pilsen. CBRE prepared and managed the disposal process on behalf of the Icelandic asset manager Kaupthing. CBRE in addition to advising on the sale, also assisted with land due diligence, feasibility study and provided technical advisory. The new owner of the land is retail chain Lidl.

Globalworth has added another office block to its portfolio – Podium Park B in Kraków. The second stage of this project has just been completed.

The construction of two more residential buildings of the Belgrade Waterfront project has commenced. Roberts Construction and Millennium Team have been selected as main contractors for the BW Simfonija 1 and 2 buildings.

The Negoiță family, which also includes the mayor of sector 3 of Bucharest, bought a land of over 10 hectares of the former Tubinox pipe factory from the Indian steel group Viraj, Profit.ro informs.
