Poland has transformed former industrial sites across six cities into some of Europe's most compelling mixed-use destinations, marking the country's evolution from economic catch-up to urban innovation leader, according to a new Urban Land Institute (ULI) report.

Nhood Romania has announced a partnership with Reuben Brothers to transform the former Solventul industrial platform in Timisoara. The 45-hectare site, with a history dating back to 1869, will be converted into a primarily residential area with integrated retail, office, service, and public amenities.

Bucharest continues to lead Romania's transformation of former industrial platforms due to its market scale and high number of available sites. The capital generates the largest volume of land transactions within urban areas, primarily through industrial space conversion, according to Cushman & Wakefield Echinox. Investors increasingly target mixed-use developments integrating retail, office, and residential components.

Prima Development Group has acquired a two-hectare plot adjacent to its new residential project Prima Solis, launched this summer. The transaction worth nearly €4 million will allow the expansion of the complex with approximately 700 apartments.

In 2023, Cordia International sold its 10,000th apartment, a result of nearly two decades of operation. The Hungarian property developer is now planning a major new urban regeneration project in Budapest.

Property developer and investor Prime Kapital has unveiled plans for an urban regeneration project in Cluj-Napoca, on a land plot of 17.1 hectares that previously hosted an industrial platform.
