Property developer Scallier says it has secured a building permit for a new retail park located in Turda. The project will have a leasable area of 9,000 sqm and has already attracted a mix of retailers.

Around 120,000 sqm in new and extensions of existing retail projects are under development in Romania with delivery estimated by the end of 2022, according to a report by real estate consultancy Cushman & Wakefield Echinox.

Gleeds, one of the world’s largest companies operating in the construction consultancy market, is responsible for the certification process as well as project and cost management services. By 2022, Scallier plans to deliver 6 assets under the Funshop Park brand, which will offer a total of 40,000 sqm of modern retail space (GLA). Further projects are in the preparatory stage.
