Romanian real estate developer One United Properties has purchased a land plot of 21,165 sqm in Bucharest from a member company of Țiriac Group in a deal worth €15 million. 

The volume of investments in Romania’s property sector exceeded €140 million in the first four months of 2021 due to a positive market sentiment, according to a report by real estate consultancy Crosspoint Real Estate. 

HB Reavis has sold a plot of land in the centre of Prague, which was created by the demolition of the former Transgas complex, to local developer PSN for a record sum of CZK 870 million.

Real estate developer Ionuț Negoiță acquired a land plot of 10 hectares in eastern Bucharest from industrial company Tubinox. The real estate investor says that this part of the city holds significant potential for the real estate industry.  

Hungarian state-owned NIPÜF Group, the developer of the Inpark Tatabánya industrial park, sold a two-hectare building plot to the Hungarian subsidiary of Soulbrain. The South Korean company will produce electrolytes for lithium-ion batteries.

Croatian real estate consultancy firm Spiller Farmer has brokered the sale of a 165,000 sqm land plot in Velika Gorica, near Zagreb, to LogExpert. The new owner plans to build a modern logistics centre of 60,000 sqm on the property.

In 2020, the total volume invested in land acquisitions in the Bucharest – Ilfov region reached €194 million, reflecting a 6.5% decrease compared to 2019, according to Cushman & Wakefield Echinox.  

COVID-19 has slowed the activity of office developers, but intensified competition in the residential land market. Warehouses are now so popular among investors that one can speak of a shrinking supply of land for more of these projects. CTP has completed the acquisition of 27.5 hectares of land close to Belgrade city centre and is moving plans forward to develop CTPark Belgrade Centre, which will become Serbia’s largest logistics and technology facility to date with over 130,000 sqm of gross lettable area. The new CTPark will be strategically located 6 km from Belgrade’s city centre, 2 km from New Belgrade, and 5 km from Airport Belgrade.  

Atenor has signed an agreement relating to the acquisition of another plot in District XI of Budapest, under 20 Hengermalom Road, with an area of 8,326 sqm. The plot is next to Atenor’s planned project, BakerStreet, and similarly, a Class A+ office building will be developed on it as Phase II of BakerStreet.
