Solid demand for office space in Poland

CEE smashes real estate investment records in 2018

According to JLL, CEE's real estate investment transactional volume for 2018 was in excess of €13.23 billion and recorded an 11% increase over 2017 (€11.92 billion). JLL has registered continued appetite from investors for the full range of assets across the entire region. Poland smashed its previous record volume set in 2006 (€5.05 billion) with a spectacular €7.2 billion traded, and secured a massive regional share of 54%. Poland was followed by the Czech Republic (€2.51 billion - 19% share), Hungary (€1.85 billion - 14%), Romania (€900 million - 7%) and Slovakia (€820 million - 6%).

Hungary’s investment volume exceeds €1.8 billion in 2018

Are flexible spaces the future of the office market?

According to research conducted by JLL, the flexible office space sector in Europe has more than doubled since 2014, driven by the development of start-ups, creative industries, and small- and medium-sized companies.   • Local developer ELI Parks has leased 8,900 sqm within ELI Park Bacău to Aquila, the distribution and logistics company specialized in the FMCG sector.
  • Vastint Romania has announced the opening of Saint Roastery Botanica, an urban café, within Business Garden Bucharest, occupying an area of 165 sqm.
  • Himalaya and Sabon are joining the brand mix at Fashion House Militari, adding new options in the beauty, sport, and lifestyle categories. Furthermore, Collective pop-up outlet is opening a multibrand store at Fashion House Pallady.

New appointments

  • Nhood has appointed Mihaela Petruescu as the new Country Director for Property Services Romania & Poland as of October. She previously held leadership positions at large real estate firms, such as Cushman & Wakefield Echinox and CBRE Romania.
  • Daniel Orczyk has been named Senior Project Manager at the technical advisory department of Avison Young in Poland. He is a licensed structural engineer and building site manager with over 20 years of experience.
  • Łukasz Meisner has joined Peakside Capital Advisors as Head of Project Management. He will be responsible for the management of Peakside's investment projects in Poland, including overseeing the implementation of key investments within the City Point, Urban Parks, and Peakside Industrial logistics platforms.
