The Romanian commercial property market has turned over a new leaf in recent years. Thanks to growing interest from international investors 2017 is set to become a record year on the Romanian investment market. The industrial market is among the segments growing especially strongly with one player in particular expanding its portfolio rapidly. Ana Dumitrache, Co-Country Head of CTP Romania shared her take on the Romanian market.

Cushman & Wakefield was appointed manager of 18 commercial properties in Poland owned by German Deka Immobilien. The properties comprise 473,363 sqm.

P3 is constructing a new 61,000 sqm building at P3 Piotrków park in Central Poland. Its main tenant will be Kuehne + Nagel, which will occupy 56,000 sqm of space. The facility is scheduled for completion in January 2018.

Július Hájek joins CTP as a new Head of Marketing. Július will be responsible for marketing strategy and execution as well as PR activities in all CTP markets throughout central Europe.

CTP has acquired two logistics parks located in Western Romania from Slovak group IPEC for €18 million. The two assets are located in Ineu, Arad County and Salonta, Bihor County and have a total leasable area of 37,000 sqm.

Hungarian developer and investor Wing has purchased the Európa Center Business and Logistic Park, located in the northernmost part of Budapest, next to the M0 ring road. Wing plans to further develop the park which has been renamed Login Business Park.

Panattoni Europe has embarked on the project to build the central warehouse for the building and home design retail chain, OBI. The BTS facility with close to 50,700 sqm will be delivered near Łódź, in the Nowosolna commune. Its development has been divided into two stages – with the first one scheduled for completion in November 2017.

P3 has promoted Sînziana Pardhan to the role of Country Head in Romania. Pardhan, who was recently appointed as Acquisitions Director for Romania, takes over from Blake Horsley, who has become P3’s Group Development Director. 

In the first half of 2017 the warehouse market was unquestionably the fastest growing commercial property sector in Poland. The highest volume of industrial and warehouse space was delivered to the market around Poznań, i.e. 133,000 sqm, while the largest scheme of 161,000 sqm is currently under construction in Szczecin. The record numbers in respect of the schemes delivered to the market are not discouraging developers from commencing new projects.

Prologis has secured a 146,500 square metre lease with Tesco Stores Slovakia at Prologis Park Galanta-Gáň. The transaction includes 55,000 square metre new lease of a recently completed build-to-suit facility and a 91,500 square metre lease renewal.
