Romania is preparing for a wave of new hotel openings in 2025-2026, solidifying its position as an attractive tourist destination in CEE, according to a report by Colliers.

Investment activity in the commercial real estate market in the Czech Republic has shot up sharply in the last quarter of 2024. After rising yields in 2022 and 2023, "prime yields" have stabilised in 2024 and the market has found a new price equilibrium, according to Colliers' regular quarterly survey. 

CBRE has advised on the sale of the Hilton Prague for the Irish Bank Resolution Corporation, marking the largest single-asset hotel transaction ever recorded in CEE. Czech group PPF has purchased the asset.

Marriott International has announced the signing of an agreement with J.W. Construction, one of the leading property developers in Poland, to bring the JW Marriott luxury brand to the country.The hotel will be located in the heart of Kraków’s city centre, housed in one of the city’s historical buildings.

Investment in the hotel sector is experiencing a significant upswing, with Romania witnessing a 56% increase in 2024 versus 2023, reaching €69.3 million. This trend aligns with a broader European surge, where hotel investments reached €20.5 billion, marking a 70% rise and establishing hotels as the leading asset class.

Bajkalská Street in Bratislava is a step closer to transformation into a modern city district. The mixed-use complex Aston 2.022 from the developer Estate 01 has already managed to obtain the first important approval - environmental impact assessment. The developer is moving to the next permitting stage, Yimba.sk reports.

The revitalisation of the surroundings of Masaryk station by Penta Real Estate is moving to the next stage. The focus of action is now directed to the south side, to Hybernská Street. 

Digital hospitality platform Numa Group and GTC have announced their launch in Hungary with a flagship property in central Budapest. 

Develia has purchased a plot of land in central Wrocław, where it plans to develop a student accommodation project with around 600 rooms and two facilities. The property was acquired from a company within the Puro Hotels group for close to €10 million.

The dynamically developing Amsterdam hotel chain Sir Hotels is opening its first branch in the Czech Republic in mid-March. The new hotel is located near Prague's Tančící dom, reports E15.cz.
