Romanian Niro Investment Group, specialized in investments and real estate asset management, has announced the appointment of Christophe Chamboncel as Head of Hospitality & Development. 

The first 5-star hotel in Cluj-Napoca will be delivered next year following an investment of €22 million made by Winners Park Invest. 

Christie & Co has found a new tenant for the former Sofitel on the main square with Mogotel, who will operate the hotel in Wroclaw's city centre under the Wyndham brand. For the Latvian operator Mogotel, it is the first hotel in Poland.

CPI Hotels has begun the construction of a new Clarion hotel in Brno, near the city’s main train station, local daily Denik reports.

Apex Alliance Hotel Management has opened The Marmorosch Bucharest, Autograph Collection in Bucharest Old Town, following an investment of €42 million.

The new ibis Bucharest Politehnica will be managed by Accor in Romania. The project was developed by local real estate company Novum Business Services. 

Meliá Hotels International is continuing on its development path throughout the Mediterranean and aims to take advantage of growth opportunities in Albania. After beginning its expansion plan in the country in 2017, Meliá has now announced its fourth hotel: the Sol Dürres Hotel, located in the second most important city in the country and one of its key tourism development centres. The company expects to open the hotel next year, and this will then be followed by the opening of three additional hotels: the Meliá Dürres, the Meliá Tirana and a third hotel in Dürres under the INNSiDE by Meliá brand. The company thus intends to introduce three of its brands and position itself as one of the leading international hotel operators in the country. 

Just steps from the Baltic Sea, Radisson Resort Kolobrzeg opens as Radisson Hotel Group’s 15th hotel in Poland. Nestled in a quiet area east of the city centre, it is the first hotel in Kołobrzeg to have its own aqua park.

Accor announced the signing of the first Tribe hotel in Hungary in partnership with local real estate developer Futureal. The 250-room Tribe hotel will open in Budapest at the end of 2023. The project is a major milestone in Futureal’s operation as part of its new business line focusing on hotel developments.

The 75% occupancy limit does not mean working at full capacity, but the recovery of the hotel market is driven by the return of holiday travel and stronger demand for hospitality services. Although the industry is facing a number of challenges, hotel owners hold onto their assets, they are reluctant to sell at a discount, believing that business will return to pre-pandemic levels.
