All new Czech Horizon projects to be BREEAM certified

The Horizon development group has announced a commitment to build all new projects in accordance with internationally recognized BREEAM accreditation criteria for sustainable development. In 2024, projects to be submitted for BREEAM accreditation will include the Blízká project in Prague’s Karlín district, the third phase of Čámovka in Čimice, Arboret in Záběhlice, and both phases of the Aura Statenice project.

Horizon acquires 24 hectares plot near Prague

Czech development group Horizon has announced the successful completion of the acquisition of 240,000 square metres of land from the Manghi Group in the village of Statenice in the district of Prague-West. The Aura - Bydlení Statenice residential project will be built on the newly-acquired plot, eventually offering over 500 units in the form of family houses and flats, while helping to strengthen local civic amenities. The start of development, as well as the sale of semi-detached houses and villas from the first phase of the project, is planned for this autumn.

Czech developer Horizon closes record year

Czech development group Horizon has a record year behind it, despite the uncertainty and difficult conditions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020, the company's total revenue from the sale of 337 units in five different projects reached €100 million (CZK 2.7 billion). Horizon plans to build around a thousand more units this year and will put another 550 apartments on sale.

Budapest office building to get new makeover

The Park Atrium office building in Budapest will be given a new look. As part of the reconstruction, the functions of the public spaces will be optimized according to new land-use principles and fresh design ideas, the ground floor lobby, the reception space, the conference centre and the community garden will be renewed. A new café overlooking the City Park will also be opened. The works will be completed this spring.

Horizon completes sales process of Prague project

Czech-based development group Horizon has announced that the sale of the second stage of Rezidence Čámovka is now complete. Despite much of the sales period being accompanied by pandemic-related uncertainty, all 148 flats in Prague's Čimice have already been secured by new owners. Commissioning for the five buildings in which they are located is scheduled for October this year.

Erste Real Estate Fund acquires Budapest office building

Promenade Gardens, a recently completed office building on Budapest’s Váci corridor, changed owners on 1 August 2018, when Erste Real Estate Fund purchased the 97% leased property from the developer, Budapest-based Horizon Development. The new, dual certified (LEED Gold and BREEAM Very Good) asset of 25,000 sqm has already been chosen by a number of international tenants such as Celanese and Citibank, with more signed deals to be revealed soon.

GLL acquires Váci 1 in Budapest

GLL acquired the multi-purpose heritage building that combines retail-, office- and service functions on 13,750 sqm at Vörösmarty Square in downtown Budapest. The seller of the recently completed UNESCO World Heritage listed premium asset is Hungarian developer Horizon Development.  The property has been added to the portfolio of Bayerische Versorgungskammer and will be managed by Munich-based real estate fund manager group GLL Real Estate Partners.

New leases

  • Cordon Electronics, a specialist in electronics and advanced technologies, has renewed its lease agreement at MLP Pruszków II, in the immediate vicinity of Warsaw. The company will continue to occupy a total of 7,770 sqm of modern space, a footprint that includes 458 sqm dedicated to office operations.
  • mBank, the digital banking company in Poland, has decided to relocate its largest corporate branch in Lower Silesia to the Infinity office building in Wrocław. The company will occupy nearly 1,300 sqm on the fourth floor of the building. The tenant will move into the development owned by Avestus Real Estate and Alchemy Properties in January 2027.
  • GSP Global Solutions Provider has further expanded its cooperation with CTP by leasing an additional nearly 7,000 sqm in CTPark Budapest Vecsés on a long-term basis.

New appointments

  • Krzysztof Wróblewski (MRICS) has been named Head of Portfolio Management CEE at Peakside Capital Advisors, responsible for overseeing investments and managing the real estate portfolio. He succeeds Christopher Smith in this role.
  • Garbe Industrial is reorganising its senior leadership team. CEO Christopher Garbe will now focus on strategic orientation and international activities. Jan Philipp Daun assumes leadership of the Development division alongside his existing Investment and Joint Venture responsibilities. Andrea Agrusow expands her remit to include Portfolio Management while retaining control of Commercial and Real Estate Management. Additionally, Michael Marcinek and Maik Zeranski will now jointly head the restructured Development unit as Management Board Members, succeeding Adrian Zellner.
  • CPI Property Group is strengthening its leasing structure with the appointment of Agnieszka Baczyńska as Head of Leasing. In her new role, she will be responsible for shaping and executing the leasing strategy across the group’s office and retail portfolio in Poland. At the same time, Izabela Potrykus has been appointed Leasing Office Director. Baczyńska brings more than 20 years of experience in the commercial real estate market. Prior to joining CPI Property Group in 2022, she served as International Leasing Director at Neinver Polska.
