AFI Europe Romania has finalized and completely sold phase I of AFI City, the first residential project developed by the company in Romania. The first phase consists of 190 apartments and 228 parking lots, and is located in northern Bucharest, in the Bucurestii Noi neighborhood.

NEPI Rockcastle and AFI Europe initiated arbitration proceedings in connection with the disputed matter of the sellers requesting the purchaser to pay the €15 million contractual guarantee and the purchaser contesting the validity of the sellers’ claim and requesting specific performance of the disposal, NEPI Rockcastle announced.

AFI Europe Romania announces the rescheduling of the opening date for AFI Brasov, the largest shopping centre project to be delivered in Romania in 2020. Initially planned for the spring of this year, the opening date is now scheduled for the autumn of 2020, should the overall social conditions allow it.

As it was reported yesterday, the €300 million sale of NEPI Rockcastle’s Romanian office portfolio to AFI Europe has been suspended. In their separate announcements, the buyer claims that the completion of the transaction was impossible due to the COVID-19 related restrictions imposed by the authorities, while the seller insists that these restrictions did not prevent completion. The two companies have not reached a consensus on postponing the transaction’s deadline. NEPI Rockcastle has interpreted AFI Europe’s actions as a wish to cancel the acquisition and is now asking the company for a €15 million compensation.

The €300 million sale of NEPI Rockcastle’s Romanian office portfolio to AFI Europe has been suspended due to the coronavirus crisis, Profit.ro reports.

AFI Europe Romania plans to expand the AFI Cotroceni mixed-use project in Bucharest with new retail, office, residential and hotel components. According to Ziarul Financiar estimates, the expansion would see the project’s total value increase from €700 million to €1-1.2 billion.

AFI Europe N.V. and NEPI Rockcastle announced the conclusion of the transaction for the acquisition of NEPI Rockcastle’s office portfolio in Romania, with a total GLA of 118,500 square meters. The transaction value is in excess of €300 million.

AFI Europe Romania intends to build 300 apartments on its 4.3-hectare land plot adjacent to the AFI Park office building and the AFI Cotroceni shopping centre, economica.net reported.

AFI Europe signed a non-binding letter of intent for the acquisition of NEPI Rockcastle’s office portfolio in Romania, with a total built area of approx. 170,000 square meters. AFI Europe will have exclusivity to conduct a due diligence in respect of the Class A office buildings with a total value of approx. €310 million.  

AFI Europe has signed a pre-sale agreement with Plaza Centers N.V. for the acquisition of 75% of the shares in the Casa Radio Project, for the price of €60 million.
