
The volume of construction works grew by 12.2% in unadjusted terms and by 10.7% as a seasonally and working-day adjusted series in the first seven months of 2025 versus the same period of last year, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
The largest increases were seen in capital repair works, which advanced by 55.0% in unadjusted terms. New construction works also saw a rise of 9.3%. The only decline was registered in maintenance and current repair works, which dropped by 0.3%.
Engineering constructions led the growth with an increase of 16.3%. Residential buildings grew by 9.7%, while non-residential buildings saw a 6.2% increase.
Significant growth was also recorded in July 2025 compared to July of the previous year. The total volume of construction works climbed by 41.1% in unadjusted terms and by 30.9% as an adjusted series. The best performance was in capital repairs, with an 67.4% advance. Maintenance and current repair works rose by 41.1%, and new construction works climbed by 35.7%.
Residential buildings jumped by 50.8%. Engineering constructions increased by 39.6%, and non-residential buildings by 38.5%.
