Over 15,000 homes in Romania have received the green building certification between 2014 and 2024, and their combined value stands close to €3 billion, according to the Romania Green Building Council (RoGBC).

Prima Development Group has purchased a land plot spanning 6 hectares in northern Bucharest, where it plans to develop a large-scale residential project. The developer already owns another land plot of 5 hectares in the same area.

JTRE is strengthening its position as an international developer. It has established a German branch and has announced its first project in the central Berlin location.

Hercesa Romania has 1,000 apartments under construction and in preparation in two residential projects based in Bucharest.

STC Partners has kicked off the development of the second phase of residential complex Quartier Azuga in Bucharest, with a planned investment of more than €15 million.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is supporting the development of residential housing in Poland by extending a loan of PLN 58.9 million (€13.7 million) to the Polish subsidiary of Nrep Nordic Strategies Fund IV. The EBRD’s loan, provided in Polish zloty, will finance Nrep’s first flexible living property in Poland under its brand Noli Studios. The signing follows an earlier commitment to Nrep of PLN 63.2 million, which supported the development of two residential-for-rent assets in Nrep’s portfolio in Poland, bringing 220 residential units to the Polish housing market.

PSN has completed the renovation of an apartment building from the 1930s. The BackYard Dejvice project in Prague has been targeted at the young generation and investors. The project is approved for use and is already sold out.

Romanian developer One United Properties said its residential sales and pre-sales volumes totaled €57.1 million in Q1 2024, down by around 10% year-on-year.

Futureal Group’s subsidiary, Cordia Zrt. has kicked off its new mega project called Marina City, aiming to build 2,500 apartments, recreational facilities and several amenities on a former industrial site at the river Danube. The HUF 400 billion (€1 billion) project is a landmark development in the northern part of the Hungarian capital.

Ostrava is dynamically changing for the better, partly through civic initiatives but mainly thanks to key development investments with the support of the city. One of the basic conditions for the revival of the city centre is also an increase in the number of residents. Currently, a private investor is planning construction on a brownfield at the intersection of Stodolní, Porážková and Masná streets. The city selected the location as its development area and put out a tender for the land. The winning project was Rezidence Stodolní from the development company Linkcity.
