IWG has announced the opening of a brand-new centre in the Szervita Square Building in Budapest. The centre, which opened last month, is operating under the Signature brand, which provides workspaces in the most sought-after locations in the world.

Although many projected that office development projects would be cancelled due to the pandemic, that is not what the numbers are showing. Developments are ongoing despite the emergence of working from home and Eston forecasts about 160,000 sqm of offices for rent to be put on the market this year, following 230,000 sqm in 2020. Meanwhile, the pre-lease ratio of buildings under construction is lower than seen in previous years, in line with the current demand trend.

The rent environment for Bucharest offices has been on a downward trend since the onset of the health crisis as flexible work arrangement that limited the presence of employees in offices were implemented, according to Investpoint.

Avestus Real Estate has selected the general contractor for the Infinity office building in Wrocław. Comprehensive implementation of the project to be developed at Jana Pawła II Square (at the junction of Legnicka and Nabycińska streets) will be the responsibility of Eiffage Polska Budownictwo S.A. The investment with a total lease area of almost 22,000 sqm is scheduled to be completed in Q1 2023.

React, an office project developed by Echo Investment in Łódź, will be the second location in the city for Chillispaces, a company specializing in providing coworking spaces. The tenant will start to operate here in the first quarter of 2022.

Hagag Development Europe says it has submitted the complete documentation in order to obtain the building permit for the consolidation and restoration works on Știrbei Palace, a historical building located in central Bucharest.

Czech industrial developer Contera is entering a new segment and will deliver an office building in the heart of Ostrava. The new project, named Organica, is set to boast intelligent control systems and environmental friendliness, the company announced on LinkedIn.

Local developer Passerinvest Group is preparing its second large-scale project in Prague, Nové Roztyly. The project is to create offices and other jobs for nearly 3,000 people and to provide housing for around 1,500 residents, local daily E15 reports.

A symbolic topping out was hung on the top floor of the third stage of the High5ive complex by Skanska in Kraków. This means that the main construction work has been completed and the building has reached its target height. Already at this stage of construction, the office section of the building has been completely leased out. With the commissioning, which is scheduled for the first quarter of 2022, Krakow will gain over 11,000 sqm of sustainable and modern office space. This is the first Skanska project in the capital of Lesser Poland, which will apply for the prestigious WELL Core&Shell certificate.
