Marriott International has announced the signing of an agreement with J.W. Construction, one of the leading property developers in Poland, to bring the JW Marriott luxury brand to the country. The hotel will be located in the heart of Kraków’s city centre, housed in one of the city’s historical buildings.

Janusz Mitulski, Senior Director Development CEE & Ukraine at Marriott International said: “The signing of JW Marriott Hotel Kraków continues to reflect the strong growth opportunities for luxury hotels in Poland. Kraków is steadily establishing itself as a premier leisure and business destination for domestic and international travellers. We look forward to contributing to Kraków’s evolving luxury hospitality landscape by introducing JW Marriott’s legacy of extraordinary service, thoughtful design, and enriching well-being experiences to the city.”

Józef Wojciechowski, Owner of J.W. Construction, commented: “Our decision to invest in Kraków was driven by several compelling factors. First and foremost, Kraków is a city of unparalleled character, rich in history and cultural heritage. The future JW Marriott Hotel Kraków will be situated in the very heart of the city, just a short distance from the Old Town, the majestic Wawel Castle, and the world-renowned Jewish district of Kazimierz. The property itself is a true architectural gem, steeped in historical significance. Originally built in 1925 as the headquarters of PKO Bank, it has since become one of Kraków’s most distinguished landmarks.”

JW Marriott Hotel Kraków is expected to feature 120 luxury guestrooms. Plans for the hotel include a signature restaurant, bar, and leisure facilities such as a swimming pool and Spa by JW, along with modern meeting spaces. Other signature brand features anticipated to be included at the property are a "JW Garden and multiple serene spaces". The construction of the hotel is expected to commence in 2025.

The hotel will be housed in the landmark, century-old modernistic building on Wielopole Street, the former PKO Bank seat, offering convenient access to the city’s historic monuments and sites as well as shopping and services.
