Segro is building a new, custom-fit facility for Corning Optical Communications, a provider of solutions for AI data centres and fibre to the home. Corning's existing operational base is being expanded with a third production and logistics building within Segro Logistics Park Stryków.
Corning has been part of the Segro Logistics Park Stryków since 2006. The more than 35,000 sqm development is part of the company's ongoing expansion in Stryków, reinforcing Corning's position as one of the key employers in central Poland. JLL advised Corning in the lease transaction.
For 20 years the company has been developing its manufacturing and key logistics operations in Stryków to address the evolving business needs of the EMEA region, and to sustain the advancement of AI-driven data centres. Corning was the first occupier at Segro Logistics Park Stryków, and also the first Segro customer in Poland for which a bespoke building was constructed. Following the establishment of its first facility, Corning expanded its operations to a second facility in 2018.
The new building is being constructed in accordance with the requirements of Breeam certification. Upon completion, the total operational space occupied by Corning at Segro Logistics Park Stryków will exceed 115,000 sqm. The new facility will commence operations in H2 2026.
"Our presence in Stryków is a story of steady growth. The decision to take a third facility stems from the need to increase production capacity in response to the demand for fibre-optic solutions," said Arkadiusz Pawlak, OCS EMEA Expansion Programme Manager at Corning Optical Communications Polska. "Our decision to choose Segro was based on trust, the quality of the space, property management, and the park's location, which translates into the efficiency of our production and logistics processes."
Bartosz Michalski, Director, Logistics, Poland at Segro, added: "The expansion of the park with another eco-friendly building for such an innovative company as Corning confirms that Poland – and Stryków in particular – is viewed by leaders as a safe and promising hub for industry and a key location on Europe's manufacturing map."
