tbi bank is expanding its financing of the Somșului 15 residential project in Cluj-Napoca, providing an additional €5 million to bring the total facility to €15 million. The new tranche adds to the €10 million granted in 2025 and is intended to support completion of the development, which is being delivered by Hexagon in the city centre, near the Someș River.

Somșului 15 comprises 136 apartments, commercial units and a two-level underground car park, spread across buildings of up to six upper floors above ground level. The project includes green areas and energy-efficient design elements. Construction is carried out primarily through Hexagon Structures, the group's in-house general contractor, giving it direct control over quality and delivery timelines.

"In real estate, you are not simply financing square metres, but the confidence that a strong project will be successfully delivered. Our relationship with Hexagon has developed over time, and the additional financing for Somșului 15 is a natural step in a partnership built around experience, strong execution capabilities and a project that is highly relevant to a robust market such as Cluj-Napoca," said Marius Constantinescu, Head of Business Banking Sales at tbi bank România.

"Somșului 15 is an important project for us, both in terms of its location and concept, as well as the quality standards we have set. tbi bank's decision to increase the financing confirms the trust built over time. In a market where execution discipline matters more than ever, partnerships like this make the difference between a well-designed project and one that is successfully delivered," said Florin Măriș, founder and CEO of Hexagon.

Hexagon operates through an integrated model covering the full development cycle, from land acquisition and urban planning to design, construction, asset management and sales. Its portfolio includes residential, retail and office projects in Cluj-Napoca and Bucharest. tbi bank entered a new phase of development at the beginning of 2026 following its acquisition by Advent International, a private equity investor with approximately $100 billion in assets under management.
