Gabriel Biriş, Founding Partner at Biriş Goran talked to Property Forum about the pandemic’s impact on the legal advisory business and what concerns investors share with him regarding Romania’s tax and legal framework.

Vitantis Shopping Center, the retail park owned by Revetas Capital, has closed new leasing deals for 3,900 sqm with three companies that will occupy spaces for the next 5-10 years. 

Bucharest’s office stock topped 3 million sqm at the end of the first half, with more than 250,000 sqm of new spaces slated for delivery by the end of next year, according to a report by Colliers.

Panattoni has started the development of Panattoni Park Rzeszów Airport II, including an 11,300 sqm BTS project, which is being constructed for US firm BorgWarner. This US-stock exchange listed company produces vehicle powertrains and exhaust system subassemblies. The tenant is to start setting up its assembly lines before the end of the year, with the entire building to be handed over in February 2022.

The office market is now at the epicentre of changes caused by the transition to the remote work model due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, with the epidemic situation improving, organisations have already commenced planning the return of employees to the workplace. The analysis of the findings of a survey of tenants of the office buildings in the portfolio of properties under the management of Cushman & Wakefield Poland reveals how companies are preparing for this change.

In the first half of 2021, Accolade has achieved a lease of 370,000 sqm of modern and sustainable space to tenants in the e-commerce, logistics, and light industry sectors. The company has also been very active in expanding its current industrial parks and investing in new projects. Almost 100,000 sqm of warehouses have been completed and a further 430,000 sqm of modern industrial space, worth more than €400 million, is under development.
