Retailer Penny, part of German Rewe Group, has opened its fourth warehouse in Romania following an investment of €26 million.

The new warehouse located in Filiași, Dolj County, has a surface of 23,000 sqm and a space with controlled temperature of 8,600 sqm. The logistics project will serve around 50 Penny stores.

“In the last seven years, Romania was the country with the biggest growth within Rewe Group and I am proud of this. We want to keep this trend in the upcoming years and to reach the targets we have by 2029,” said Daniel Gross, Penny Romania’s CEO.

Penny closes this year with 301 stores and aims to open another 35 units next year. By 2026, the retailer aims to grow its network to 600 stores and six warehouses.
