The Castorama network of renovation and construction stores will expand with five new stores, which until recently operated under the Tesco brand. Each of them will be reconstructed, adapting not only to the standards of the new owner, according to DlaHandlu.pl.

Tesco announces the sale of its business in Poland to Salling Group A/S. The transaction, which is subject to antitrust approval, includes the sale of 301 stores together with the associated distribution centres and head office.

Echo Investment has secured three standing and working first-generation shopping centres belonging to the Tesco Group. Altogether, around 240,000 sqm mixed-use area consisting of office, retail and residential space can be developed on plots located in Poznań, Łódź and Kraków.

Tesco has sold its department store in central Prague to Amadeus Real. Formerly named Máj, it is currently known as My. The new owner is planning a general reconstruction of the building which is planned to start in H2 2020 and last two years, local media reports.

Tesco and Carrefour have announced their intention to enter into a long-term, strategic alliance. The alliance will cover the strategic relationship with global suppliers, the joint purchasing of own brand products and goods not for resale. It will be governed by a three-year operational framework.

A Slovak private equity group has disposed of a 6,800 sqm hypermarket in Liptovský Mikuláš with an exceptionally long lease with Tesco to a Czech private investor, Cushman & Wakefield announced on Twitter.

Tesco’s department store next to Brno’s main railway station has been sold to British developer Crestyl for an undisclosed sum. The supermarket will continue to operate at its current location. 

A new distribution centre for Tesco is being built at SEGRO Logistics Park Poznań. The company will start operations in the BTS building comprising over 30 000 sqm at the turn of September and October 2016. Deliveries to 140 retail outlets in the northern and north-western regions of Poland will be completed from the new central warehouse.
