JTRE opens shopping centre extension in Slovakia

The first modern regional shopping centre in Prešov, the third biggest city in Slovakia, is opening a second stage on 23 September. JTRE’s expanded EPERIA Shopping Mall will include new fashion brands, restaurants, and a multiplex cinema, with the retail area increasing by 50%.  The shopping centre will provide visitors with a wide range of customer services, more parking spaces, and new indoor and outdoor relaxation zones.

HB Reavis close to completing new Bratislava bus station

Construction works on the new bus station in the Nivy complex on Mlynské Nivy Street in Bratislava are in their final stages. Developer HB Reavis is already fine-tuning the details, testing lighting, technology and information systems. The terminal will be airport-style with 36 platforms, seven drop-off points and 86 bus stands with barrier-free access, the company informs in a press release.

Union Investment and GARBE acquire first logistics asset in Slovakia

Union Investment and GARBE Industrial Real Estate jointly acquired the first logistics property for their “UII Garbe Logistik Fonds” investment fund. The seller is the Karimpol Group, a privately held property developer active in Eastern and Central Europe for over 30 years. It was agreed not to disclose the financial details of the transaction.

Leasing activity picks up in Slovakia across all markets

Total take-up on the Bratislava office market reached 37,000 sqm which represents a year-on-year increase of 19.5%. As the pandemic slowed down, retail leasing activity also returned and with it the surge in footfall and turnovers. Total quarterly industrial/logistics take-up recorded a strong 22% year-on-year growth, reaching 146,300 sqm. New leases

  • Two new tenants have joined Galeria Echo in Kielce, owned by EPP. Dealz chain shop has leased a unit of nearly 580 sqm. The retail space of the Carrefour hypermarket is more than 4,500 sqm.
  • A Rossmann chain outlet has opened in the TGG shopping centre in Wrocław. The new chemist's shop took up over 600 sqm next to the grocery shop. In September, the second TGG site, the Astra shopping centre in Wrocław, will in turn see the opening of a Pepco chain shop.
  • InPost has opened a second logistics centre in Łódź. Ultimately, almost 300 people will find work in the 8,500 sqm facility. InPost's logistics centre, located in the vicinity of the A1 Central Logistics Hub motorway, occupies 7.5 thousand sqm of warehouse space and 1 thousand sqm of office space.

New appointments

  • Agnieszka Boroń has joined Equilis Poland to take up the post of Development Director. She has worked in the construction and development industry for over 20 years, specialising in residential project management. Prior to joining Equilis Poland, she was programme director at Nexity. Prior to that, she worked in managerial positions at Dom Development.
  • Agnieszka Baczyńska took up the position of Head of Leasing - Retail in CPIPG. She is responsible for the commercialization of retail facilities from the CPIPG portfolio. Baczyńska also manages the leasing of office space on the buildings owned by CPIPG.
  • Ferenc Gondi has been appointed to a new post as Country Head for CTP Hungary. He's been part of CTP's activity for over 5 years.
