New York-based Studio Libeskind, led by Daniel Libeskind, has designed the Sekyra Flowers apartment buildings, which, together with the new square, are creating the heart of the emerging Rohan City district of Sekyra Group in Prague.
There will be approximately 500 apartments in four residential buildings. Within this central phase of Rohan City, a total of 1,650 apartments will be built with an investment of CZK 15 billion (€618 million).
Streets and parks in the new district will be named after prominent philosophers, making Rohan City the first comprehensive philosophical district in Europe.
Luděk Sekyra shared his vision of the space: "With respect for the surrounding urbanism, Sekyra Flowers will delineate, define and revitalise the newly created square, piazza, both as a place of civic and community life and as an environment representing reciprocity and continuity, in other words, mutuality and permanence of values. The heart of the new Rohan City district will be created here."
The Rohan City project completion is expected by 2035. The total costs will reach CZK 30 billion (€1.24 billion).
