London's New Bond Street has been crowned the world's most expensive retail destination for the first time, while Budapest's Fashion Street posted the biggest gain in CEE, according to Cushman & Wakefield's Main Streets Across The World report.

Although rental deposit alternatives have long been standard across many Western European markets – as in Switzerland, where the "Mietkaution" model is widely established – in Poland, such solutions are still relatively new. Bingo-Rent is the first Polish fintech working to change this by introducing a rental deposit surety service.

At the end of 2024, there were more than 22,300 units in the PRS sector in Poland, of which around 26% were brought to market last year. In terms of project supply, Warsaw's dominance is evident. The sector is expected to grow to over 35,000 units in the next three years. The latest JLL report indicates the rapid development of the institutional rental market and the growing interest of investors in this sector.

Romania's housing market faced a significant imbalance in 2024, with new home deliveries falling 15% nationwide and over 20% in Bucharest, while demand rose by 7%, finds a Colliers report.

The Lett Markowska project in Warsaw's Praga Północ district, being developed as part of the housing platform by Nrep, has received financing of PLN 60 million (ca. €14 million) from Santander Bank Polska. The funds will be allocated to the development of the investment, which includes 179 rental apartments. This marks the first collaboration between Nrep and Santander Bank Polska.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has issued a €100 million loan to the Polish subsidiaries of Vantage Development, a residential-for-rent developer and operator, ultimately owned by Germany’s TAG Immobilien.

Van der Vorm Group, a Dutch investment fund, has completed the acquisition of 119 turnkey flats located on Siennicka Street in the Praga Południe district of Warsaw. The price has not been disclosed.
