Recovery in Ukraine’s real estate market: How is it going?

Recovery in Ukraine began after the first months of the war. Without waiting for the war to end, the authorities and the population decided to restore both civilian and commercial facilities that had been damaged or destroyed during the hostilities. Today, this is a well-controlled and organized process of reconstruction and renovation, funded by the state, along with the help of international organizations, and by the population's efforts in the case of damaged housing. The Ukrainian Real Estate Club has collected information on specific areas of reconstruction for Property Forum, from the restoration of critical infrastructure to socially oriented projects such as schools and medical facilities.

Finep sells resi project in Prague for €40 million to Mint

Property developer Finep has sold a house with rental apartments in Prague 9 to Mint's residential fund. The former Veltex building in Poděbradská Street is expected to bring mainly small apartments to the rental housing market within about two years. According to the daily e15.cz, the transaction is worth almost CZK 1 billion (around €40 million).

Rebuilding Ukraine: What’s the plan?

The scale of the destruction suffered by Ukraine as a result of the war is difficult to comprehend. The housing stock has been severely damaged, with Ernst & Young's research indicating that the scale of damage to Ukrainian real estate exceeds the volume of all new housing commissioned over the past seven years. No wonder that speaking about the Ukraine Recovery Program, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal noted that it will be the largest reconstruction project since World War II. PSN to build 150 lofts in a former factory in Prague 4

Another residential project worth more than a billion crowns (€41 million) is being completed in Prague. This time PSN is building 150 luxury lofts in the former Microna aerospace factory in Prague's Modřany district. The Vanguard project is expected to be completed next year, PSN CEO Max Skala said.

  • International retailer MR.DIY has joined the tenant mix of the Plejada Shopping Centre in Sosnowiec. Its new 700 sqm store will significantly enhance the shopping centre’s offering of household products and everyday essentials. Cushman & Wakefield is responsible for the leasing and comprehensive management of the property.
  • Hotspot Workhub, the flexible workspace operator, has renewed and expanded its presence within The Mark office building, owned by CPI Property Group. The lease deal for 2,550 sqm was brokered by iO Partners Romania.
  • Foundever has doubled its footprint to 3,500 sqm within the Bucharest-based Campus 6.3 office building, owned by CPI Romania. Cushman & Wakefield Echinox brokered the deal.

New appointments

  • Katarína Brydone, Jana Vlková and Vendula Maršová have been appointed as the first Equity Partners of Colliers’ Czech business. Brydone brings more than 20 years of experience in international real estate. Vlková has more than 25 years of experience in commercial real estate. Maršová, Partner and Head of Valuation and Advisory Services, brings more than 16 years of experience in real estate valuation and advisory.
  • BNP Paribas Real Estate Poland has expanded its Industrial and Logistics Agency team with the appointments of Joanna Choromańska, formerly of JLL, and Bartosz Wilczyński, previously with CBRE. The new hires bring a combined 34 years of experience in sector sales, lease negotiations, and build-to-suit project delivery to support the division's ongoing growth.
  • Speedwell has expanded its industrial and logistics team with the appointment of Valentin Achim as Leasing and Property Manager for Industrial Developments. Achim brings extensive experience in coordinating commercial and operational activities within the logistics and industrial sectors. In his new role, he will oversee the development and expansion of the company's Spaceplus platform.
