7R has acquired land for two new last mile projects in Warsaw locations. The first will be built on Osmańska Street, near Chopin Airport, and the second - on Rzeczna Street in Targówek. 

Panattoni has completed the construction of a BTS facility for Animex Foods, the largest food producer and exporter of meat in Poland. The modern building, with an area of ​​10,153 sqm, has been developed near Ostróda in the Warmian-Masurian province.

On 14 April 2021, CPI Property Group S.A. and Aroundtown SA unilaterally announced a firm intention to make a cash offer for the share capital of Globalworth not already owned or controlled by them at €7.00 per Globalworth share. On 19 April 2021, Globalworth announced the formation of an independent committee of the Board to evaluate the offer.

Echo Investment finalised the acquisition of a majority stake in Wrocław-based company Archicom, thus becoming the largest residential developer in Poland as the Echo-Archicom group.

Investors’ interest in retail parks in Poland has been growing year-on-year. In 2020 this was the most sought-after retail class, taking up the majority of retail transactions. Their popularity has increased especially in the last year, due to the fact that they remained resilient to the pandemic restrictions,  says Avison Young.

Central Point in Warsaw has now reached its target height of 86 meters. The building, located at the intersection of two subway lines, consists of 21 floors and will offer nearly 20,000 sqm of space. Commercialization of Central Point will be handled by teams from JLL and CBRE on behalf of the owner, Immobel.

Macquarie Asset Management has acquired the final asset in a €190 million logistics real estate portfolio in Poland on behalf of Bayerische Versorgungskammer (BVK), Germany’s largest pension fund.

European Logistics Investment (ELI) has begun construction of its newest warehouse scheme located in Tychy – one of the main logistics areas in the Silesia region in Poland. The project has been awarded the BREEAM certificate at the Excellent level. Park Tychy, developed together with its partner Panattoni, will feature two building complex with 100,000 sqm of logistics space. The first building has already been 100% pre let.

Avison Young has significantly increased its CEE presence in recent months and the company is planning further expansion. Gerry Hughes, Principal and President of Avison Young Europe talked to Property Forum about the firm’s strategy for CEE and shared his expectations regarding the future of the advisory business.

Between January and March 2021, nearly 93,000 sqm of retail stock was delivered in Poland, a result comparable to the same period last year. The structure of new supply included only two large-scale formats: stand-alone retail warehouses (55% of new space) and retail parks (31%). Convenience centres claimed the remaining 14%. The largest scheme delivered was an Agata Meble store (11,000 sqm) in Jelenia Góra. JLL summarised the conditions on Poland’s retail market at the end of the first quarter of 2021.
