Total demand on the Budapest industrial market amounted to 202,610 sqm in Q2 2020, which is two times higher than the figure registered in the same period last year and 17% higher than the 4-year average Q2 volume. The Budapest Research Forum published its quarterly industrial market analysis

Total demand on the Budapest office market in Q2 2020 reached 87,990 sqm, representing a 46% decrease year-on-year and the number of signed transactions dropped by almost 50% compared to the same quarter of 2019, according to BRF’s latest figures.

Logistics company FIEGE has recently signed three transactions for 38,600 square meters at Prologis Park Budapest-Harbor, of which 19,600 square meters are new leases, including the just-completed new Building 11 totalling 14,000 square meters. With a total leased area in the park of 59,000 square meters, FIEGE has become the largest customer of Prologis in Hungary.

Hungarian development and construction company Market Építő Zrt. has completed its new headquarters in Budapest. The 5,500 sqm four-story office building was designed and built by Market and its subsidiaries. The office building, named Market 6.0, refers to the group's sixth headquarters and is located in Budapest’s Óbuda district, in the immediate vicinity of the previous headquarters.

Prologis is expanding its Hungarian portfolio with the acquisition of 13 hectares in the Budapest logistics market. Modesta Real Estate facilitated the transaction.

Transport company BHS Trans is to build a new logistics warehouse centre on 10,000 square metres in Debrecen, Eastern Hungary. The warehouse is part of a HUF 7.5 billion investment project, which the state supported with a HUF 3.4 billion grant. The facility will go into operation in early 2021 and the project is to create 165 new jobs.

GalCap Europe, a real estate asset and investment manager specializing in Austria and Central Europe, has acquired another asset in Budapest for a German pension fund’s portfolio. The Rumbach Center office building now expands the existing CEE portfolio within the investor's specialized fund structure, which is under the administration of 2IP Institutional Investment Partners. It was sold by Dubai-based Al Habtoor Group, one of the MENA region’s most respected conglomerates with interests in hospitality, automotive, real estate and education. The deal was brokered by Colliers in Hungary.

Belgian developer Atenor announced the launch of BakerStreet, its fourth project in Budapest. Atenor acquired a 5,711 sqm plot of land located at 18 Hengermalom Road in district XI of Budapest in July 2019 in order to develop a new Class A+ green office project of nearly 18,000 sqm.
