Colliers sells industrial building in Hungary

The Industrial division of Colliers International Hungary sold the Scanfil building in Rozália Park to Reál food store chain. The building totalling 14 500 sqm was used by Scanfil for the production of mechanics and integrated products and will be now used by Reál as distribution centre for the greater Budapest area.

Investors focus on Hungary and Czech Republic

Occupier and investment sentiment continues to be positive across Central and Eastern Europe according to the RICS Commercial Property Monitor for Q1 2017. Similarly to last quarter, Hungary remains the most upbeat market globally with the Czech Republic also performing remarkably well. The picture is slightly more mixed in Croatia and Romania, still, near term momentum remains positive in the two markets.

M7 acquires light industrial portfolio for CEE fund

M7 Real Estate has acquired a portfolio of 11 light industrial assets in Hungary and the Czech Republic, on behalf of M7 CEREF I, from a joint venture between Partners Group and Cromwell Property Group. The portfolio comprises 209,832 sqm, with seven of the assets located in Hungary and the remaining four in the Czech Republic.

Investment flows into CEE grow by 70% in Q1 2017

Investment flows into the CEE region rose 70% year-on-year in Q1 2017. The level of €2.8 billion is some €0.5 billion higher than the preliminary estimate of €2.3 billion Colliers International published at the beginning of April. Money invested into the Czech Republic  (56% share) and Hungary (19% share) contributed particularly to the significant jump. Looking within the numbers, the retail sector accounted for nearly half (47%) of the flows, leaving the office sector trailing with a 21% share. Of interest and also a sign of buoyant economic growth, the fastest growth was seen in the hotel sector with a portfolio transaction contributing to the €415mn total (a 15% share).

New leases

  • Endava has leased an additional 2,400 sqm in the UBC 1 building, part of the Palas Iași mixed-use complex owned by Iulius. This expansion brings its total office area to 5,500 sqm.
  • Revetas Capital announced that Bonarka for Business “B4B” has secured a lease extension contract with a company of Hitachi Group - GlobalLogic. The company, a leader in digital product engineering, has been a tenant in B4B since 2016 and leases in total of 6,500 sqm of office space in Building F.
  • GTC has extended its lease for 1,700 square meters of office space with pharmaceutical company Egis Polska. The company will continue its operations in the Corius building at the Aeropark Business Centre in Warsaw.

New appointments

  • GTC has announced the appointment of Sebastian Junghänel to the Management Board as Chief Operating Officer, effective 2 September 2025. With more than 18 years of experience in the real estate sector across Germany and CEE, Sebastian brings strong expertise in asset management, project development, ESG and innovation. His career includes co-founding ZEITGEIST Asset Management, where he built a €1 billion portfolio, and senior management roles at HOCHTIEF Group. At GTC, Sebastian will focus especially on the oversight of our portfolio in Germany, which includes, includes 5,200 residential units in Kaiserslautern, Helmstedt, Heidenheim, and surrounding areas. His know-how will also support our development projects in Central and Southeastern Europe.
  • Justyna Filipczak has taken up the position of Executive Vice President of the CEE residential segment and joined YIT's management team.
  • Avison Young's Valuation and Advisory team in Poland has welcomed a new member, Michał Marynowski, who takes the role of Assistant Valuer. Among other experiences, he worked at the Court of Appeal in Warsaw, where he was responsible for verifying execution documentation for selected investments, updating data in the premises database for court buildings, and analysing tender bids. Proficient in GIS, AutoCAD, and Revit, he also has strong skills in interpreting planning documents.
