The office subleasing market in Bucharest is gaining ground as the development pipeline of new projects is falling, while tenant companies are looking for better locations to reduce commute times for employees, concluded speakers of the hybrid work panel of SEE Property Forum 2023, held in Bucharest.

The workforce is changing, and Generation Z is leading the way. This generation, born between 1997 and 2012, is now entering the workforce in large numbers, and it is characterized by its unique values and aspirations, according to Maria (Tudorică) Jianu of Genesis Property.

"We have recently come across Steelcase's recent survey of 58,000 individuals from 11 countries, which has uncovered intriguing insights into what it will take to entice employees back to the office. The findings, both expected and surprising, shed light on the importance of selling rather than imposing a return to the workplace in the current competitive labour market," writes Darren Allen, Director at Genesis Property, for Property Forum.

Romanian developer Genesis Property says it is committed to achieving zero carbon emissions for the buildings in its portfolio by 2030. This will be achieved by investments in energy efficiency and production from renewable sources.

Romanian developer Genesis Property has completed the largest renewable energy project in an office park in Romania. The project consisted of the installation of more than 1,000 photovoltaic panels on an area of more than 4,000 sqm, in prosumer mode, on the office buildings’ roofs in YUNITY Park based in northern Bucharest, following an investment of €1 million.

Genesis Property is investing €50 million in YUNITY Park, a mixed-use project in Bucharest with co-working and co-living components. Darren Allen, Development Director of Genesis Property spoke to Property Forum about the office market amidst the adoption of hybrid working and investing in campuses with complex facilities for a new work and play experience.
