The Rezidor Hotel Group announced the signing of the Radisson Blu Hotel Timisoara. This takes the group's portfolio in Romania to four hotels. Radisson Blu and Mulberry Development will create an international upper upscale hotel in Timisoara, the main social, economic and cultural hub in Western Romania - and the European Capital of Culture for 2021.

CTP has acquired more than 20 ha of land for a new park in Iłowa, South West Poland. The new park sits strategically in the city’s dedicated Economic Activity Zone on the A18 highway connecting Krakow, Wroclaw and Germany.

The 145-room ibis Styles Budapest Airport Hotel, the first airport hotel in Hungary with a direct terminal connection, constructed in a development project by Wing, opened for business at the beginning of January. The 6,600 sqm hotel is located approximately 200 m from Terminal 2, and is connected to it by a covered walkway.

CTPark Bor has been expanded by a multi-functional service centre. The aim of this centre is not only to provide an office space for the tenants of CTPark Bor, but also to be attentive to their personal needs. The building includes a restaurant, a mini market and a medical professional. CTP is also drafting plans for a space with games and an area for athletic activity.

Skanska invests €50 million in the second phase of Generation Park, an office project located in Warsaw, Poland. The second building, with a total leasable area of about 18,300 square meters, will comprise 16 stories above ground and two stories of underground parking. The investment will also include four underground parking levels for the planned third building.

Founded almost 25 years ago by owners and managers of the former TriGranit Group, Granit Polus recently announced its intention to launch a major mixed-used development in the centre of Budapest. Owner Sándor Demján and CEO Gyula Ágházi shared the company’s new strategy with Property Forum.

Panattoni Europe is building Panattoni Park Zielona Góra – a modern multi-tenant distribution centre, planned for 75,000 sqm. At present, nearly 50,000 sqm, in three buildings, are under development. The space has been leased by both manufacturing companies and logistics businesses, which will be able to move into the park in early 2018.

AFI Europe Romania has signed a financing agreement for €22 million with Bank Leumi Romania for the development of phase 1 of AFI Tech Park, the newest business park the company is currently developing in Bucharest.

The Hungarian government plans to maximise the height of any building in Budapest at 65 metres, the minister leading the Prime Minister’s Office announced. János Lázár told journalists that there is a bill before Parliament that would ban the construction of buildings higher than 65 metres.

As a response to continued strong demand from tenants in Budapest and Bucharest, Skanska plans to launch several new projects in both capital cities. Marcin Łapiński, Managing Director for Hungary and Romania talked to Property Forum about the differences between the two markets.
