Operators of co-working spaces rented nearly 20,000 sqm of office space in existing or developing buildings in Bucharest in H1 2018, which represents a 13,4% share in the total transaction volume, estimated at around 150,000 square meters, according to data from Cushman & Wakefield Echinox.

Israeli-owned real estate developer Hagag Development Europe has commenced construction works on its first office project in Romania, H Victoriei 109. The developer is planning to invest over €8 million euro in the 6,000 sqm project.

Forte Partners has purchased a 5,400 sqm land plot for the third building of The Bridge in Bucharest. At an average price of at least €500 per square meter in the area, the deal could amount to €2.7 million, zf.ro estimates.

Atrium European Real Estate Limited has completed the sale of the Atrium Militari shopping centre in Bucharest, Romania to MAS Real Estate Inc. for €95 million, which represents a 9% premium to book value on 31 December 2017.

In accordance with its business strategy - consisting in allocating capital to the most promising markets, which will underpin sustainable results in the future, Orbis has signed a purchase agreement for the plot, building and the business related operations in Mercure Bucharest Unirii for €11.35 million.

AFI Europe Romania finalised the acquisition of a land plot in Bucharest, in the proximity of AFI Park 1-5 and AFI Cotroceni shopping mall, with a surface of approximately 43,000 sqm, in a transaction worth €23 million.

H&M Romania has leased 1,000 square meters in Unirii View, a 73-meter tall office building in the centre of Bucharest. The fashion retailer will take up a superior floor within Unirii View.

Romania becomes the seventh country in which Mindspace offers its flexible workplace solutions, following a leasing agreement Globalworth has just signed. Mindspace will start operating in three Bucharest buildings, on approx. 12,000 sqm across Globalworth Campus, City Offices and Bucharest Tower Center. At the same time, Globalworth is investing $10 million in the company to support its ongoing growth.

After delivering the first two office buildings of the Globalworth Campus complex in Bucharest, the developer has started the construction of Tower 3, with a total leasable area of 35,000 sqm. Upon completion, Globalworth Campus will comprise three main office towers offering 92,000 sqm of leasable area and 760 parking spaces, along with green areas and a large conference hall.

AFI Europe Romania broke ground this month on AFI City, the first large-scale residential project to be developed by the company in Romania. TGC was assigned as the general contractor for the first phase of the project.
