The MLP Group commenced the construction of its first logistics park in Romania. The MLP Bucharest West park will be built in the country’s most important warehousing region, in the immediate vicinity of Romania’s capital city. Work is currently underway on the construction of a 12,000 sqm facility. In total, over 22,000 sqm of modern warehousing space will be constructed at the first stage of this project. Ultimately, over 95,000 sqm of space will be available to tenants in MLP Bucharest West. Sagex Construct has been selected as the general contractor.

The first facility is being created on a speculative basis. “We are currently at an advanced stage in the process of negotiating lease agreements with potential tenants. We are confident that by the time we wrap up the construction process, which should take place no later than in mid-2019, all available space in our park will be commercialized,” emphasized Agnieszka Góźdź, Sales Director for Poland and Romania at MLP Group S.A.

The owner intends to apply for a BREEAM certificate. The new warehouse will also be built in accordance with the standards adopted by the MLP Group. This means that a Class A structure will be built with a clear height of over 10 meters and a floor bearing capacity of 6t/sqm. The facility will be fitted with modern equipment and accessories, including LED lighting, an ESFR sprinkler system, a gas-fired heating system, skylights and smoke vents.

The MLP Bucharest West park is being constructed in Bucharest’s north-western outskirts, near Chitila, in Ilfov county. The logistics park will be directly accessible from the Bucharest Ring Road, being adjacent to it, and will be located between the following two European routes: E70 and E60 connecting Timisoara and Brasov with Bucharest, respectively. A trip by car to the park from the Bucharest Otopeni International Airport will take approx. 15 minutes and a trip from downtown Bucharest will take approx. 25 minutes.
