The industrial, logistics and office sectors in Bucharest were the drivers of the real estate development market in the first nine months of the year, while the retail sector recorded the lowest growth rate in terms of projects delivered in this period of time. On the property investment market, the retail sector was the star, cumulating 60% of the volume traded in the first nine months.

The developer of Bucharest’s Veranda mall will begin work on expanding it one year after inauguration, zf.ro reports.

CTP has acquired Phoenix Logistics Center (PLC) from the Dutch company LSREF3 Alpha Dutch Holdings B.V. The centre has been integrated into CTPark Bucharest and is located in Chiajna, 10 km from Bucharest’s centre.

The Bucharest office market saw a net take-up of close to 45,000 sqm in this year’s third quarter. According to data from Colliers International, the demand came mostly from IT and BPO/SSC companies, including from the new entries in the market: Amazon, GoPro and Systematic.

Immofinanz started selling land plots from the portfolio of Adama, a residential developer part of the Immofinanz Group. Polish developer MLP Group will build a new logistics park in Romania. The development project will be executed near Bucharest on an 18.8 ha plot of land. The target total area of this complex of facilities will be approx. 80,000 square meters of modern warehousing space.

The office markets of Central European capitals are growing dynamically with the number of new leases on the rise and vacancy rates hitting record lows in several cities. In light of all this it is no surprise that development activity is also heating up on the most popular markets of the region.
