Shanghai Pret Composites, a manufacturer of polymer composites for the automotive and industrial sectors, has signed a lease agreement for a production facility in Opole. The deal, facilitated by Savills Polska, marks the company's first investment in Poland and is part of its broader European expansion strategy.
The new facility will be located in the OPOL 4 building within the CTPark Opole logistics park. Shanghai Pret Composites, which already operates in the US, China, Mexico and Germany, chose the location for its strategic position, favourable investment environment, and the ability to adapt infrastructure to its specific technological needs.
“The Polish market is a natural next step in strengthening our global presence. Thanks to Savills’ support, we secured a location tailored to our production and logistics requirements,” said Hao Gong, R&D engineer at Shanghai Pret Composites.
Preparatory works included adapting the site for polymer processing, meeting specific energy requirements, and implementing a flexible layout to fit the production process. A shortened project timeline was also key to enabling a fast relocation of technology.
“This project posed unique challenges due to the technical nature of the tenant’s operations and the ambitious schedule,” said Bartosz Czuba, associate director, industrial agency at Savills Polska. “We worked out solutions that meet all of the investor’s critical needs.”
Piotr Merta, business developer at CTP Polska, added: “For non-European companies like Shanghai Pret Composites, key factors include supply chain reliability, access to EU markets, and cost-efficiency – all of which Poland offers in one location. It also helped that the facility was already prepared for production activities, allowing for swift adaptation.”
Michał Chodecki, head of industrial agency at Savills Polska, noted the broader implications: “This cooperation confirms the growing interest of Asian manufacturers in investing in Poland. Our ability to offer end-to-end support, from location analysis to lease finalisation, proved valuable for this client.”
The investment reinforces Opole’s position as a key industrial hub in Poland.
