Heimstaden buys residential portfolio in Plzeň

Swedish company Heimstaden, the third-largest provider of rental housing in Europe, continues its investments in housing in the Czech Republic. The company, which bought Residomo with 42,500 apartments mainly in the Moravian-Silesian Region last year, is now expanding its portfolio with a €22.7 million acquisition in Plzeň from Czech developer Daramis.  The new assets include 226 flats and 5 non-residential premises.

Cordia buys office space in Birmingham for new UK HQ

Hungary-based residential developer Cordia International Zrt. continues its international expansion strategy. After acquiring UK developer Blackswan last year, the company has announced the acquisition of a new office space in the heart of the Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham, England, which will become Cordia Blackswan’s UK headquarter. The property developer is set to refurbish and move into a former branch of Lloyds bank. The historical building will not only be home to Cordia Blackswan, but it will also offer modern office and co-working spaces.

Arete closes sale of CEE II portfolio to Cromwell

The Arete Group of investment funds completed the entire transaction and transferred ownership of the complete portfolio of the Arete Invest CEE II subfund in the amount of €113.2 million (CZK 3 billion) to Cromwell European REIT (CEREIT) a publicly-traded real estate investment trust listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange.

New leases

  • The Polish branch of Lufthansa Technik AG, a global provider of maintenance, repair and overhaul services for civil aviation, has joined the group of tenants at the Infinity office building in Wrocław. The company has leased over 860 sqm of office space in the building, in the heart of the city on ul. Legnicka. Lufthansa Technik AG will move into its new headquarters in April 2026. The lease was signed for seven years.
  • Fortress Logistics Real Estate, part of South African global investment platform, has set up office in the third floor of the Metropolitan building on Piłsudski Square. The Warsaw office will overlook the Ministry of Culture and the Raffles Europejski Hotel.
  • Promenada Mall, owned by Nepi Rockcastle, has completed the first stage of its food court modernisation, spanning 1,000 sqm, with the opening of eight new restaurants.

New appointments

  • From mid-October, László Csapó will take up the position of Director of Business Development at Danubius Hotels Zrt. He succeeds Andrea Róna, who had held the position since 2022.
  • Cushman & Wakefield Echinox has named Gabriel Vințe as Business Development Manager within the Project & Development Services (PDS) department. He will also oversee the business line dedicated to sustainability services. Vințe has over 21 years of experience gained in renowned companies across sectors such as financial services, retail, residential, and consultancy.
  • Cushman & Wakefield has strengthened its Warsaw-based Capital Markets team, led by Paweł Partyka, with the appointments of Jakub Grabara and Natalia Wołyniec. The new hires will support the company in delivering transactional advisory services across the commercial property market.
