Construction production in the Czech Republic has increased by 17.1% year-on-year, and has been higher by 2.3% month-on-month, according to the Czech Statistics Office's report of August 2025 figures. The market is mostly driven by infrastructure construction.

The indicative value of issued building permits increased by 12.2%. Year-on-year, 0.4% fewer apartments were started, and 35.4% more apartments were completed.

Production in building construction increased by 11.2% and engineering construction increased by 27.4%. "Construction production has been growing continuously since November of last year. In recent months, even at a double-digit rate. The large amount of engineering construction under construction also contributes to the growth," says Radek Matějka, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Forestry, Industry, Construction and Energy Statistics at CZSO.

In August 2025, the construction of 2,757 apartments was started, and this number decreased by 0.4% year-on-year. 3,033 apartments were completed, which meant year-on-year growth of 35.4%.

The indicative value of buildings for which construction permits were issued in August reached CZK 56.7 billion (€2.32 billion) and increased by 12.2% year-on-year. "The approval of a larger number of buildings with budgets over a billion crowns contributed to the August year-on-year growth of the reference value. After their model deduction, the reference value would be slightly below the level of last August," explains Petra Cuřínová, Head of Construction and Housing Statistics Department at CZSO.
