Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) has inaugurated the rebranded Westfield Černý Most shopping centre in Prague, featuring an extension that introduces new shopping, dining and entertainment experiences. With more than 30 new retail and restaurant offers and an expanded cinema experience, the destination now spans approximately 94,100 sqm and 180 units.

A new fund managed by Upvest and the investment company RSJ have secured a quarter share in the Černý Most shopping centre in Prague, reports Hospodářskénoviny.cz.

WOOD & Company has announced the completion of the acquisition process of the Aupark Bratislava shopping centre. At the same time, it has invested in its expansion with the public opening last week.

Retail management and development company Multi Corporation has named Andrea Boris Hipeco as European Head of Leasing. He will also take on the Leasing Director role at the company’s newly established French division. 

Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield URW announces the appointment of Jakub Skwarlo to the role of COO Central Europe, with responsibility for overseeing the company’s business in Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, Poland and Slovakia. He will be based in Warsaw and also join the company’s Executive Committee.

Bratislava's Aupark shopping centre, owned by Wood & Company and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, is adding another step to improve its sustainable management. In addition to sorting, low-energy lighting and water conservation, it is now installing hundreds of photovoltaic panels on its roof. The owners are hoping to make significant savings in energy resources, most notably saving 100,000 cubic metres of natural gas per year, reports the online daily Reality.trend.sk.

Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield has been awarded BREEAM In-Use v.6 for its Westfield Arkadia, Galeria Mokotów and Galeria Wileńska shopping centres in Warsaw, all of which were rated as ‘Excellent’ for asset performance.

Current owner Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield is reportedly planning to sell the Aupark shopping centre in Bratislava and is currently in the final talks with Czech investment group Wood & Company, according to index.sme.sk. The potential new owner is allegedly interested in purchasing the asset for around €500 million.

The COVID-19 crisis continues to evolve rapidly and several governments in the markets in which Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) operates have taken measures to contain the spread of the virus. These measures will impact the Group’s operations, according to URW’s statement.

Globalworth Poland has closed the acquisition of two office buildings in Warsaw, Skylight and Lumen, from Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield.
