Aareal Bank announced the closing of a financing agreement with developer Ghelamco Group at the end of the second quarter of 2021. As sole agent, arranger and lender, Aareal Bank is providing a senior loan in the amount of €312.5 million to the family-owned real estate group, which is mainly active in the office, residential, retail, leisure and logistics markets.
pbb Deutsche Pfandbriefbank (pbb) and Helaba have jointly underwritten an investment facility, totalling €130 million to refinance “Dock In Office Park” (4 buildings) in Prague for Crestyl Group. pbb and Helaba are acting as joint lead arrangers providing equal portions of the funding. pbb also acted as facility and security agent of the transaction.
CTP raised €500 million with their third green bond issue on 18 February 2021, increasing the total raised from Green Bonds to €1.55 billion since their inaugural issuance in September 2020.
Aareal Bank has arranged and underwritten the refinancing of two logistics and industrial parks in premium locations in the Czech Republic on behalf of CTP. Aareal Bank acted as Mandated Lead Arranger, Sole Lender as well as Facility and Security Agent. The facility comprises a total commitment of approximately € 403.5 million with a loan term of 10 years.

Accolade and Aareal Bank of Germany have agreed on the refinancing of six parks in Szczecin, Bydgoszcz, Lublin, Legnica, Białystok, and Zielona Góra in Poland. This refinancing, in an aggregate value of €153 million, is one of the largest financial transactions in the industrial real estate segment in Central Europe.
The Arete investment and real estate group signed a loan agreement with Raiffeisenbank for up to €80 million. The funds will be used to refinance the existing real estate portfolio of the second ARETE fund (ARETE INVEST Sub-Fund CEE II) and to invest in new industrial assets.
Czech industrial developer Contera has obtained a syndicated loan from ČSOB and Komerční banka in the total amount of €155 million. Most of the funds will be committed to refinancing the developer’s portfolio of warehouses and production halls in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, which are owned and operated by Contera together with US investment company TPG Capital. The remainder of the loan is allocated to the development of new projects.
GTC signed a €130 million refinancing loan agreement for one of the largest assets in its portfolio, Galeria Jurajska. Located in Częstochowa, the 48,700 sqm shopping centre offers over 200 stores, service points, restaurants and a multi-screen cinema.
Cushman & Wakefield brokered the lease of a prominent four-storey unit of 5,500 sqm retail area in Prague on Wenceslas Square to HalfPrice, a Polish off-price brand retailer, part of the CCC Group. HalfPrice's flagship store in Prague will be the company's largest store in the world.
The global healthcare company, Falck, has chosen the Skyliner in Warsaw, owned by the Karimpol Group as its new office for their IT department in Poland. It will occupy nearly 1,500 sqm of space.
A new tenant has moved into Kraków's V.Offices office building. Imperial Brands Services has signed a lease for nearly 1,600 sqm of space. The building's owner, AFI Europe, was represented in the transaction by experts from Knight Frank, while the tenant was represented by the CBRE agency.
New appointments
In September, Michal Berski took up the position of head of the warehouse sector at CBRE Poland. He has been with the company for over 10 years. In his new role, he manages strategy and the development of all business lines within the warehouse and industrial sector.
Slawomir Czarnecki is the new president of Grupa Muszkieterów and ITM Poland. He has replaced David de Bosschère. The new CEO is the owner of the Bricomarché shop in Świecie and has many years of experience in trade, as well as in the Group's internal structures.
LCP Properties, a developer in the Polish retail park market, is continuing to strengthen its organisational structure. Andrzej Plit has been appointed as the new Finance Director. Meanwhile, for the LCP-owned EMKA shopping centre in Koszalin, Daria Kokowska became the new Shopping Center Director.
