Hines and Kajima have announced the conclusion of an agreement to pursue development projects in Poland in the private rental housing sector (PRS).

Kamil Kowa, Member of the Board at Savills Poland talked to Property Forum about the rapid development of the Polish private rental sector, its attractiveness for investors and the current state of PBSA industry.

The Robyg Group wants to increase the share of apartments for rent in its offer. In line with the strategy, by 2024, it plans to allocate about 4,500 apartments for rent. It also plans to expand its operations to other cities in Poland, the chairman of the supervisory board Oscar Kazanelson announced.

In January, the NREP team expanded to include the Head of the Living Investments Department. Maciej Piotrowicz will be in charge of investments and the development of projects in this segment in Poland. By the end of the year, 10 people will be part of his team

AFI Europe has taken stock of the results for 2021, a year in which it has been fully committed to implementing its new corporate strategy focused exclusively on rental housing. The company is currently constructing four buildings in three residential projects in Prague. It plans to complete the larger part of them this year.

The attitude of young Poles towards the concept of property is changing. Property Forum talked to Andrzej Gutowski, Vice President and Sales Director of Ronson Development, another Polish large residential developer, which has recently decided to include PRS apartments in its offer.

A lending transaction worth appr. €78.3 million (PLN 355 million) related to the refinancing of a residential portfolio is the first joint venture of Resi4Rent and ING Bank Śląski. 

AFI Europe has completed the rough construction of an apartment building in the newly built AFI City district in Prague 9 - Vysočany. A total of 640 apartments are being built on a brownfield site near the Kolbenova metro station, exclusively for rental housing in two separate buildings, which will also include commercial space for shops, services and a restaurant. The construction of the first of them, with 313 units, has just moved towards completion and is successfully heading towards completion in Q4 2022.

Resi Capital S.A., a company belonging to Cavatina Group, wants to deliver 2,200 apartments for rent in Katowice, Krakow, Łódź and Wrocław by 2023. The Quorum investment in Wrocław and WIMA Widzewska Manufaktura in Łódź are already under construction. Bank Pekao S.A. has just granted Resi Capital financing exceeding PLN 160 million in the form of loans for the realization of these housing projects.

Dorota Wysokińska-Kuzdra, Senior Partner, Head of Corporate Finance and Living Services for Central and Eastern Europe at Colliers talked to Property Forum about the rapid development of the PRS market and the current state of affairs on the residential market in Poland.
