According to data from Colliers, a trend called shell & core is gaining momentum in the Czech Republic. This is a strategy of constructing and building out industrial buildings to the stage of providing basic structures and infrastructure.

The vacancy rate at the end of Q1 2024 reached 8.9% in Greater Budapest, representing a 0.3 percentage points increase quarter-on-quarter, while an increase of 3 percentage points was registered year-on-year, the Budapest Research Forum reports.

VGP NV and AREIM Pan-European Logistics Fund AB have announced the signing of an initial transaction between VGP and its 50:50 joint venture SAGA. The target investment is reaching €1.5 billion.

Lion’s Head, a joint venture company between AG Capital and Old Mutual Property, signed a contract for acquiring BPD – a logistics and industrial properties investment company. This is the biggest deal in the sector for the last years with an investment of €71.4 million.

Panattoni has begun construction on a new industrial park in Będzin. The first stage of the work has already been launched and is to be completed in September. It will comprise a 27,500 sqm building constructed on a speculative basis. The total area of the park is to come to 87,500 sqm. 

Segro has extended the lease agreement with Ikea in its park in Hostivice. The furniture dispensing warehouse has been located in SEGRO Logistics Park Prague since 2014.

Renewable energy companies announcing new large-scale projects in the north of Poland will need large spaces for storing components of solar and wind farms. Warehouse developer LemonTree has joined the United Nations Global Compact initiative under the aegis of the UN. This initiative aims to support companies in implementing the UN Sustainable Development Goals. At the same time, LemonTree joined the Climate Positive programme, which implements the climate goals set by the UN.

Panattoni is developing another BTS project for K-Flex – an international manufacturer of elastomeric thermal and acoustic insulation materials. A seventh building of 20,000 sqm in the warehousing and manufacturing complex in Uniejów will be completed in June this year.
