Westbridge Advisory International AG, the international entity of operating cost optimizer Westbridge Advisory, has converted a portfolio of six office buildings for Union Investment in Poland to green electricity. By bundling the entire supply with a single utility and the switch of the entire portfolio to green electricity, it was possible to reduce CO2-emissions by roughly 7,600 tons. The properties, located in Warsaw, Wroclaw and Poznan, have a total rental area of around 155,000 sqm and an aggregated annual electricity consumption of 25 gigawatt-hours.

The LivinnX Kraków student residence, developed by Golub GetHouse, has signed an agreement with Tauron, which includes the purchase of electricity obtained entirely from renewable sources, i.e. hydroelectric power plants and wind farms. LivinnX will use the electricity offered as part of the EKO Premium product, which is the only solution in Poland to have a Green Energy Sale Guarantee, confirmed by the Polish Association for Energy Certification.

Panattoni has introduced a new façade standard at its parks. The new façade features predominantly aluminium and glass, with a new colour scheme and larger green areas. The makeover is part of the company’s sustainable development approach, which includes reducing CO2 emissions, employee well-being, environmental stewardship, as well as BREEAM certification of newly built facilities with a Very Good rating.

The construction of the first warehouse in accordance with 7R’s new 7R Green eco-concept is underway. The facility is being built in the BTS formula for logistics operator No Limit in the 7R Park Sosnowiec complex in Sosnowiec, Poland. The green solutions applied in the project will help to minimize No Limit’s environmental impact.

The Downtown One project has been awarded a LEED Precertification on the Gold level. It is the first building in Albania to be LEED precertified by the U.S. Green Building Council. The precertification process was advised by Colliers International Albania and the Colliers International Poland Green Building Advisor Team lead by Andrzej Gutowski.

IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, is providing a green financing package of approximately €205 million to Warehouses De Pauw NV (WDP), a Belgian real-estate investment trust, to support the construction of around 1 million sqm of resource-efficient semi-industrial and logistics properties across Romania. The green financing fits within a larger €750 million financing programme and includes green financing from third-party investors mobilized by IFC under its Managed Co-Lending Portfolio Program and from international commercial banks.  

Panattoni received a BREEAM International New Construction certification with a Very Good rating. The new endorsement was awarded to the developer’s 60,000-square-metre project for Amazon in Okmiany near Bolesławiec. The facility was recognised for its features, including the water system which obtained the highest possible score.

A modern office building, which is being built in the centre of Katowice, .KTW II was awarded the BREEAM Interim Design Stage certificate at the Excellent level.

All of Panattoni’s parks completed as of 2020 will be certified under BREEAM New Construction International standard with a Very Good rating. Panattoni already has 1 million sqm pending certification and 24 projects completed according to BREEAM and LEED standards.

Institutional investors expect that so-called ‘green’ lease clauses will be universally implemented in the real estate industry before the end of this decade, according to a new research by Savills Investment Management.
