All of Panattoni’s parks completed as of 2020 will be certified under BREEAM New Construction International standard with a Very Good rating. Panattoni already has 1 million sqm pending certification and 24 projects completed according to BREEAM and LEED standards.

In Poland alone, the portfolio of the developer’s facilities meeting sustainable development standards includes 24 projects – 14 completed BREEAM certification with a GOOD rating, 8 successfully qualified for a Very Good rating, and two hold LEED Gold and Silver certification.

“This is the highest number of certified facilities in Poland for one developer,” comments Robert Dobrzycki, CEO Panattoni, and adds “to date, we have 770,000 sqm of BREEAM or LEED certified space, comprising our own parks, e.g. in Sosnowiec, Kielce and Pruszków, as well as facilities completed for our customers, whom we supported in the certification process, e.g. H&M, Amazon, and Decathlon.”

“The installation of LED lighting has become a standard for us a long time ago, as has the enhanced insulation of walls and roofs, and building airtightness, which enables us to reduce emissions of exhaust gases and carbon dioxide and make up to 20 percent energy savings in heating the facility. Now it is time to go a step further,” he added.

According to the adopted guidelines, facilities will be fitted with intelligent building management systems. Bicycle parking systems will be put in place, as well as electric vehicle charging stations. Rainwater will be collected and used in toilets and for outdoor irrigation.

Panattoni will also see to biodiversity at the parks, creating shelters for invertebrates. Landscaping will provide for a larger number of trees and shrubs, surrounded by no-mow lawns: wildflower meadows.
