Didier Balcaen, CEO and Co-Founder of SPEEDWELL, talked to Property Forum about the company’s strong development pipeline in Romania and the trends shaping the local residential and commercial real estate market.

Speedwell Development has announced the appointment of Yannick Van de Parre as Country Manager for Romania. 

Speedwell Development has appointed Maria Jianu as its new Leasing Director, tasked with growing the tenant portfolio and strengthening strategic partnerships for projects such as Queens District, SpacePlus and Paltim.

Speedwell has kicked off the development of the second residential building of the mixed-use project Paltim based in Timișoara.

Speedwell expects to break ground in 2024 with its new villa project near Bucharest, in Corbeanca, with the first residential units set to be delivered in early 2025.

Speedwell obtained the BREEAM Excellent Certification for the first building in The Ivy residential complex under development in northern Bucharest.

Speedwell has secured a loan of €13.6 million from Garanti Bank for the development of the third phase of The Ivy residential project in northern Bucharest.  

E.ON Business Services Cluj, part of the German group E.ON, will relocate to a  new office space in Record Park, the mixed-use project developed by Speedwell, and owned by AYA Properties Fund. The fit out works for the new office have been completed and the company is expected to start operations in the new space soon.

Property developer Speedwell has purchased a new land plot of 15,000 sqm in Popești-Leordeni, near Bucharest, for its second light industrial project under the SpacePlus brand.
