Property developer Speedwell has launched Glenwood Estate, a residential compound in Corbeanca, near Bucharest, with the total investment value estimated to exceed €135 million.
Glenwood Estate spans 14 hectares and will feature up to 200 units across seven housing typologies. The villas range from 142 sqm to 220 sqm, built on plots between 322 sqm and 557 sqm, each with private gardens and parking spaces. The development includes amenities such as a private club with café, community centre, kids club, semi-Olympic swimming pool and lakeside promenade.
"Romania is a real-time lesson of development for us. In these 20 years of experience, with each project we developed we have learned and witnessed how people become ready for a different and complete lifestyle," said Didier Balcaen, CEO and Co-founder of Speedwell. The project is being built in stages, with the first phase comprising 50 villas. The first 15 villas will be ready in autumn 2026, with amenities opening in spring 2028.
Each villa features sustainability technologies including 5kWh photovoltaic panels and heat pumps for heating and cooling. "We designed this development starting from our responsibility towards the environment and future generations, implementing technical solutions for each unit," said Jan Demeyere, Co-founder, Architect and Partner at Speedwell.
Speedwell has developed projects across Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Timișoara, Râmnicu Vâlcea and Brașov, totalling approximately 160,000 sqm of office and retail space, over 5,500 apartments and 23,000 sqm of industrial space, with a total development value of around €2 billion.
