Stokado, Poland’s second-largest self-storage operator, has opened its first facility in Kraków. The development, located on Sosnowiecka Street near the Bronowice shopping centre, offers more than 5,000 sqm of net lettable area and is the first self-storage building in Poland to receive full BREEAM certification from the design and construction phase.

The facility provides flexible rental solutions for individuals and businesses, with 24/7 access, fully contactless service, and management via a mobile app. It features a spacious loading and unloading area, complimentary trolleys, a packing materials store and on-site staff offering support and additional services such as parcel handling.

“This facility is purpose-built with the end user in mind, offering units of various sizes and advanced security systems including CCTV, electronic access controls and individual alarms,” said Pieter Prinsloo, CEO of Redefine Europe BV.

“Poland has only around 200 self-storage facilities compared to about 9,500 across Europe. Since acquiring Stokado in 2023, we have focused on expanding in key urban areas. With further developments planned, including three new facilities to break ground this year, our Kraków investment demonstrates our commitment to sustainable, customer-focused growth,” said Piotr Fijołek, Co-Managing Partner at Griffin Capital Partners.

All of Stokado’s current projects are designed to meet BREEAM standards and are fully digitised, offering online contract, booking and payment options.

Stokado is owned by Redefine Properties, Griffin Capital Partners and the company’s founders. The operator currently runs 20 facilities in Poland with a total of 28,000 sqm of space serving around 3,000 private and business customers.
