Between the pandemic, the war, rising prices and increasingly frequent warnings of recession — these are the conditions in which the retail sector operated in the first quarter of 2022. The authors of the cyclical report from BNP Paribas Real Estate Poland point out, among others: continued strengthening of the position of discount store chains and growing interest in facilities with a high potential for modernization, expansion and repositioning.

Mitiska REIM, the specialist investor in European convenience real estate, has today announced the opening of a new retail park in the city of Puławy in eastern Poland. OTP Bank Romania has granted €8 million in financing to Polish developer Scallier, for the construction of Funshop Park Turda.  

Developer J&T Real Estate CZ will build a new business zone with a city park in Hradec Králové near the D11 motorway. Thirty shops and a hobby market will be located in an area of more than 40 hectares. The total investment in the project will be around CZK 3 billion.

Sierra Balmain has been appointed by Stage Capital to provide property management and leasing services for three shopping centres in Poland: Galeria nad Jeziorem in Konin, Pasaż Łódzki in Łódź and CH Osowa in Gdańsk. The agreements include all aspects related to the management of each location, including, operational management, property-related finance matters, lease management, leasing and marketing. These three mandates add to a successful management partnership with Stage Capital, which already included Centrum Galardia in Starachowice.

The partnership demonstrates a 2030+ vision to responsibly realign public realm with the New Center of Warsaw municipal masterplan and form meaningful pedestrian connections with anticipated Museum of Modern Art and Plac Centralny, Chmielna street and tourist city walk toward Nowy Świat and Old Town.

Most customers no longer visited shopping centres for traditional shopping purposes only, a non-representative survey conducted by Indotek Group revealed.
