Industrial developer Panattoni will commence construction of Panattoni Park Katowice Airport spanning 240,000 sqm, with Fiege as the first tenant occupying over 42,000 sqm of logistics space.

"The start of construction of Panattoni Park Katowice Airport is an important stage in our development in Silesia. The project, which will ultimately comprise 240,000 sqm of industrial space, will be one of the largest logistics centres in the region," says Marek Dobrzycki, Partner at Panattoni. "We are delighted that Fiege is returning to us – this is another joint project in recent years, following Goleniów and Gorzów Wielkopolski."

Fiege is one of the largest logistics service providers in Europe, operating in 15 countries with over 130 locations. In Poland, it serves customers from the FMCG, fashion, industrial, retail, healthcare and e-commerce sectors. "The choice of Panattoni Park Katowice Airport was primarily based on an analysis of the location. The facility is located in a key focal point from the perspective of our client's logistics," says Piotr Kohmann, CEO of Fiege Poland.

The space leased by Fiege will be equipped with advanced automation solutions, including automatic storage and picking systems (AutoStore), narrow aisle storage (VNA) and vertical storage systems (VLM). FIEGE will gain early access to the space in mid-2027, with regular operations commencing in January 2028. The facility will employ approximately 120 people.

Panattoni Park Katowice Airport is being built 3 km from Katowice International Airport in Pyrzowice, at the junction of the A1 motorway with the S1 expressway. The investment will undergo BREEAM certification at the Excellent level and will be equipped with technologies for energy efficiency, water consumption reduction and CO2 emission reduction.
